Unraveling Cyno DNA: Mapping a Path to Better Research Models
- May 10, 2012
- Participation Options:
- Onsite - BMS Conference Center, Pennington, NJ
- Online – Video Conferencing
A Scientific Conference for Investigators working with Non-Human Primate Models
Organized by the New Jersey Association for Biomedical Research
Sponsored by Bristol-Myers Squibb
This conference will build on ground-breaking work to sequence the Macaca fascicularis genome and focus on practical applications of primate genetics in drug discovery and development. World-renown NHP researchers will present the latest findings and share strategies for advancing the science through improved experimental design. Afternoon workshops will allow researchers to explore plenary topics in greater depth with the speakers and colleagues from academia and industry.
Distinguished Faculty:
- Keynote: Genome-based Drug Safety Testing Assessment in Animal Models
Dr. Ulrich Certa, F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., Switzerland - SNPs for Genetic Management of Cynomolgus Macaques & their Application to Biomedical Research
Dr. David Smith, UC Davis, California - MHC-defined Mauritian Macaques in HIV/AIDS Research
Jonah Sacha, PhD, Vaccine & Gene Therapy Institute, Oregon National Primate Research Center - Characterization of Immunogenetic Diversity in Mauritian Cynomolgus Macaques:
Application to the Model for HIV/AIDS
Dr. Nicola Rose, National Institute for Biological Standards & Control, UK - Models for Validating Gene Targets for Drug Discovery
